Here are a few pictures taken at the inaugural Greystone Mansion Concours d'Elegance in Beverly Hills held on April 11, 2010. The annual event was presented by the Friends of Greystone, who's mission is to preserve and restore the estate so that all can enjoy it's beauty, and sponsored by Gooding & Co. Auctions and Private Brokerage, the Peterson Automotive Museum in Los Angeles, Brooks Brothers Jewelers, Ferrari of North America, the Armand Hammer Foundation, the Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau, Tiffany & Co., Rolls-Royce, Jett Vodka, and Gauthier Jewlers. Food was presented by Lawry's Catering featuring delicious eats from Spago Beverly Hills, Coupa Cafe, il Pastaio, Porta Via, and Via Alloro.
This Historic Landmark was built in 1928 by the Doheny family who occupied it for twenty seven years. The main driveway (seen in the first picture) was lined with a handful of American and European automobiles that are concurrent with the years that the Doheny family resided in the estate. From left to right are: 1949 Cadillac 75 Series Town Car, 1929 Packard Convertible Sedan, 1953 Cadillac Series 62, 1958 Cadillac Biarritz, 1927 Rolls-Royce Phantom I, and a 1938 Packard Twelve.
The rest of the pictures will be described as they appear from left to right: 1934 Cadillac 355D, 1933 Minerva Model-AL, 1931 Rolls-Royce Phantom, detail of the R-R Phantom engine, 1956 Maserati A66 2000 Zagato, (same), 1938 MG SA, 1952 Rolls-Royce Silver Dawn, 1936 Bentley 3.5 Litre, 1938 Talbot Darracq T23 Drophead Coupe and 1956 Nash Rambler Palm Beach Coupe Special both presented by Gooding & Co., 1956 Austin-Healey 100M, 1962 Austin-Healey 3000 MK II BT-7, 1929 Ford 165-A, a line-up of cars including from nearest to farthest: 1959 Alfa Romeo Giulietta Spider Veloce, 1958 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster, 1955 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider, and 1947 Delahaye 135 MS, and the vast display of both vintage and modern motorcycles.
The next four pictures are different angles of the main driveway. Next is a shot of the foyer followed by a photo of the Gauthier booth which was located in one of the many garden areas strewn throughout the vast estate. After that, the Ferrari exhibit is shown in another area of the driveway. The last two photos are of posters: one depicting a map and historic photos of the estate's rose gardens, the other is the official poster of the event depicting a photograph taken by Michael Furman of a 1937 Delahaye 135M Roadster bodied by Figoni & Falaschi.
