This lovely 20/25 was first sold to RJ Colling of England with registration number BGN521. Other owners include Lombard North Central Ltd. in 1973, Raymond Kerry DeCourcy / Carlton Hotel in 1974-76, S.C. Hamer of Holland Mews Park, London. In 1977, the noted collector Bryan Jones purchased the car and had it shipped to his home in Connecticut. Prior to shipping, the car was completely re-wired by Magneto Repairs of Cricklewood and the sunroof, interior and boot were restored by Roy Creech, who had previously worked for Hooper. He also replaced the wood subframe as needed. During Mr. Jones residence in Connecticut from September 1978 - May 1989, the car attended the Atlantic Region Meets. After his move to New Hampshire, Mr. Jones began to upgrade the car's condition and it eventually won first price the the National Rolls-Royce Meet touring class competition at both Ottawa (1992) an Asheville (1993). From 1988-92, the engine was completely rebuilt by Ken Smith of Bethany, CT. Mr.Smith apprenticed at Rolls-Royce in England and is well-known to Rolls-Royce owners in the Atlantic region.
The last owner purchased the car in 2005 from Mr. Jones and kept it until our recent purchase.
The car showed 117,000 miles in 1977 and it was believed to be correct at that time. The current mileage is 128,633. The car comes with an extensive history file.
The Freestone and Webb styling is exquisite and the long chassis gives this exceptional car the scale of a Phantom II with the agility of a 20/25.
