Mercedes-Benz 1960 220SE Coupe
This is likely the finest original 220SE coupe in existence. Only 8450 miles and it is still fitted with its original tires. It is complete with Karl Baisch fitted luggage, owners documents, all manuals and tools. Four speed Hydrax transmission. The Hydrak was Mercedes first attempt at an automatic. It is more like a semi automatic. Air conditioning. Two owners.
The car is in excellent running condition. Even though it is a very low mile original car, it was completely attended to as needed by Dr. Phil Lutfy of Arizona, who is one of the world's experts of Mercedes cars of that period. A restored version of this car was sold for $121,000 plus 10% buyers commission ($133,100) at the RM Auction in Scottsdale January 2006. The last two photos shown are of the red car which sold at RM.
The car I am offering is a miracle. The original owner is still available to attest to the mileage and condition. All the books and service history remain with the car.
